Waymark (verb): “To provide or identify (a path) with waymarks; to mark out (a route)”
Oxford english dictionary
Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains and north of Atlanta, Kennesaw State University houses Waymark Literary Magazine. Waymark is a literary magazine run by students that accepts fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art submissions from undergraduate students in accredited universities across North America.
Waymark began in 2019 and published its first issue in the Spring of 2020. Two issues followed, and, after a brief hiatus from Spring 2021 to Spring 2024, Waymark released its first issue in three years with an entirely new masthead.
Now, Waymark publishes on a rolling basis, with a new issue every academic semester. In addition to releasing student work, Waymark also publishes book reviews from our staff and regularly releases episodes of our podcast, Waymark: Unbound. Waymark also hosts a book club, Plot Twist, dedicated to novels with a twist for KSU students.
