  1. When do submissions open and close? Submissions open every Fall and Spring semester. For specific submission windows and deadlines, please refer to our “Submission Guidelines” page.
  2. When does Waymark publish? Waymark publishes works on a rolling basis, with one combined issue each academic semester: one in the Fall/Winter and one in the Spring/Summer.
  3. Do we provide feedback or notes? Waymark provides reasons for rejection and general feedback, but we do not provide specific notes.
  4. Who can submit to Waymark? Undergraduates in North America and any affiliated territories are welcome to apply.
  5. Do we accept simultaneous submissions? Yes, we do accept simultaneous submissions. Please inform the editorial team if your piece has been accepted elsewhere.
  6. How do I submit? Waymark uses Submittable to review submissions. You can find the link on the “Submission Guidelines” page.
  7. Do I have to be a student at Kennesaw State University to submit? No, you do not have to be a student here! We accept submissions from undergraduates all over North America.
  8. How long does it take to hear back from our team? The Waymark team responds to submissions on a rolling basis. We try to respond to all submissions within 2-3 weeks of submitting. If you do not receive a decision within that timeframe, please feel free to reach out to us on our “Contact Us” page.
  9. Who owns the rights to my work after publication? You will have the rights to your work after our publication. All we ask for is credits for first publication if you decide to publish it elsewhere afterwards.
  10. Will you publish my book? No, Waymark does not publish novel-length works, nor excerpts or chapters from larger bodies. Waymark only publishes stand-alone short fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art.
  11. Will you publish anything other than fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art? While we make no promises, Waymark always tries to support student artistic endeavors. Reach out and tell us about your piece, and we can see if your work is a fit for Waymark.
