
Waymark at KSU
In addition to publish undergraduate work, Waymark is dedicated to engaging with Kennesaw State University’s prolific community of student writers. We host events through out the school year with hopes of bringing this community together. You don’t have to be an English major, or even an undergraduate, to join us; you just need to be a KSU student. Keep an eye on our Instagram and OwlLife page to see what’s coming from Waymark!

We Are Looking For New Members
Waymark is always looking for new members who share our love of writing and art. If you’re a KSU student looking to get involved with a club that provides valuable resume-building experience and group of friends, review our list of open positions below. If you want to join us but don’t know where you fit in, visit our Contact page and tell us how you might fit within our team. We are always open to new eyes and fresh perspectives. Your major does not have to match with the position you’d like, but we will prioritize those with relevant experience when selecting.
Open Positions:
- Event Coordinator: The event coordinator is in charge of scheduling, planning, coordinating, and promoting Waymark’s events, ranging from workshops for KSU students to team building events for staff. This person is, or works with, the RSO Room Delegate to reserve rooms on campus for semesterly events. This person also works with our marketing team to create event flyers. This is the position for you if you have a passion for communications and logistics.
- Poetry Reader: Poetry readers help the poetry editor review poetry submissions to decide what pieces should move forward with editing and publication on our website. This is the position for you if you love poetry, have an open mind to new forms and structures, and love to discuss poetry.
- Nonfiction Reader: Nonfiction readers help the nonfiction editor review nonfiction submissions to decide what pieces should move forward with editing and publication on our website. This is the position for you if you love to read nonfiction narratives, have interest in the human experience, and love to discuss nonfiction.
- Fiction Reader: Fiction readers help the fiction editor review fiction submissions to decide what pieces should move forward with editing and publication on our website. This is the position for you if you love to read short stories, can appreciate a story’s elements/craft, and love to discuss fiction.
Fiction Reviewer: The fiction reviewer will choose a book to read and write a literary review on. These literary reviews will be on a monthly basis. This is the position for you if you love to read contemporary fiction books, have strong writing and critical thinking skills, and have a strong, analytical mind.Poetry Reviewer: The poetry reviewer will choose a poetry book or collection to read and write a literary review on. These literary reviews will be on a monthly basis. This is the position for you if you love to read contemporary poetry, have strong writing and critical thinking skills, and have a strong, analytical mind.- Nonfiction Reviewer: The nonfiction reviewer will choose a nonfiction book to read and write a literary review on. These literary reviews will be on a monthly basis. This is the position for you if you love to read nonfiction genres (such as memoirs, autobiographies, history, etc.), have strong writing and critical thinking skills, and have a strong, analytical mind.
- Website Mechanic: The Website Mechanic will work with editors and the Marketing Coordinator to upload posts and images about recent Waymark events and completed works of all genres. This is the position for you if you have a strong knowledge of using WordPress services (or a willingness to learn WordPress) and a strong eye for visual design.
