About Waymark Submissions
Waymark Literary Magazine is a fully online magazine in html format. We publish fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art.
Waymark accepts submissions from undergraduate students from North America (Canada, Mexico, North America) and its affiliated territories. Work submitted by students residing outside of North America or work from non-undergraduate students will not be considered for revision.
All pieces should be submitted with adherence to MLA formatting: 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, page numbers in the top-left.
Waymark does not publish erotica or fan fiction of any kind. We reject works with excessive violence, hate speech, and unnecessary gore.
All submitted works should be self-contained stories that are not parts of larger works. Waymark does not publish chapters of books or book excerpts.
To ensure fairness during the evaluation process, please do not include identifying information in the document containing your piece.
We use Submittable for our submissions. Please reach out to waymarkmagazine@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
Waymark’s AI Policy
At Waymark, we absolutely prohibit the creation and submission of works solely made by generative AI. Passing off works made by other authors, human or otherwise, is categorically defined as plagiarism and is unacceptable.
However, we do recognize that some generative AI can be used as a tool in the writing process to aid in early narrative development, help bridge educational inequities, or lessen constraints that hinder a collaborative revision process. When used as a tool to provide suggestions and commentary, rather than acting with autonomy, generative AI can have a positive impact on a writer’s work. If you chose to use generative AI as a tool in aiding in your writing process, please disclose that in your cover letter and discuss how you used AI in your work.
