In October of 2025, Waymark and the KSU Writing Center partnered again on Halloween to host the second annual “2 Sentence Horror Story” contest, with the top winners having the chance to be published in the Fall ’24 issue of Waymark. The Waymark and KSU Writing Center administration are proud to present the winners of the contest and publish their works.

Liz Tillman is a senior Modern Language and Culture major. She is currently studying German, Spanish, and Chinese. Liz is also a tour guide at Kennesaw State University. In her free time, she likes to read, write, watch TV, and play videogames.

Frederick Drayton writes things, mostly fiction, though he isn’t yet a “professional.” As a Thomasville, GA native, most people from there who know him might also say “Yeah, Frederick Drayton writes things sometimes.” In the Fall 2025 Semester, Frederick Drayton is a graduate student pursuing his Masters of Professional Writing degree in the fields of Creative Writing and Applied Writing. When Frederick Drayton graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (and a minor in Mass Media), he did not expect he would be here, in the Metro Atlanta/Marietta area, writing the things he currently does.
