Who in the world has the fastest fashion?
Those who don’t think of outfits for today,
But what will be worn for lunch or dinner.
To wear something that will, in time, decay.
I like to think of Italians with their
Black shirts and models with a fitting form.
Or Germany, whose fast fashion could be
Inspired by Chanel or so, Dior.
In America, a suit which is em–
bellished with a flag can be seen as a
Sign of strength or power. Be not stodgy.
Do not let the pattern scare you away.
What’s popular will change as years pass on,
And trends will come and go: like red rubber–
Bands and/or hats. It’s hard to guess what’s next,
But trends are oft’ like those that are or were.
They fade. But their impression will remain.
Those who are the fastest will remind you
That there are rules you must obey, but rules
Get broken by those who wish not to play.
Here’s what they’ll say:
“Do wear something that pleases he or she,
For in fashion there is no room for they.
For they are wrong, with their sewn-on stars of
Gold, in fleece, in lace, in tweed, or crochet.”
But they will change. What’s new will soon be old.
His favorite shirt for yester- and today
Will soon be thrown away, to another side,
‘Cause the new one is white, without black stains.
