“Alien” by Bhagwati Narwate

The words
I know them
Aw, I’m sorry.
That’s great!
I can replicate them
With perfection, with ease
Hi, how are you?
Yeah, for sure.
Inflection is key
Nearly child’s play
I’m good, you?
It was nice meeting you!
But I lack one thing
My face
Good evening.
Is that okay?
My voice bursts with expression
While my face remains the same
I will master this as well
Until I, too, am seen as human
