I don’t mind sharing a bed with you
and your big pregnant belly
that paddles me
every other time you turn
in your endless search for comfort.
I don’t mind the semicircle bruises
slowly eclipsing my side,
blending me into
the bedsheet sky
with ashy bites of your moon.
Like space, I’ll always be here:
a swaddling backdrop
ringed with orbits,
supporting journeys and returns,
watching closely, from afar,
or not at all, if requested.
Like space, I’ll always be there,
canvasing my kin’s presence,
declumping constellations,
allowing shape,
hanging them in full display
where the world can see.
If you see them,
you see me.
